In Loving Memory of our beloved Marguerite “Marge” Carithers Lofton
Marguerite “Marge” Carithers Lofton, was born on February 17, 1954 in Turner County, GA. She was born to the late Vinson and Willie Mae Carithers. She was the youngest of 11 other siblings. Five of these preceded her in death.
Marge was reared and educated in Ashburn, Georgia. It also here in the year 1978 that she was joined in matrimony to Jefferson Lofton. She loves to sing, dance and bring joy to people even though she was a very quiet person.
In 2003, Marge devoted her life to Jehovah and became a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where she served faithfully until she became ill.
On August 23, 2018, just as Lazarus went to sleep, so did our dear Marguerite. She leaves to treasure her loving memories: a loving and devoted husband, Jefferson Lofton; her loving children and step-daughter, Syretta L. Smith, Elena Lofton and Lisa Madison; a loving son-in-law, Adonis “Sherrod” Smith; loving sisters and brothers, Gereline (Alexander) Nedd, Chrisitine Travick and Queen Carithers, Jimmie(Laura) Carithers, and Lee (Mary) Carithers; loving mother-in-law, Adeline Lofton; loving sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn (Fred) Jones, Ella (Freddie) Perry, Brenda (Billy) Austin, and Tania (Toriana) Gilbert; loving brothers-in-law, Leroy Adkins and Lamar Lofton; a special friend, Mary L. Dawson; a host of other relatives and friends, to include the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
