Mr. David Daniel of Buena Vista. Georgia passed away on January 20, 2017, in a hospice facility in Columbus, Georgia.

His remains were cremated. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Brown Chapel AME Church on Pineville Road, Buena Vista, GA

David Alfonzo Daniels was born into humble beginnings Wednesday, May 10, 1961, in Marion County, Georgia to a sharecropper and housewife, the late Mr. Johnnie and Mrs. Julie Lee (King) Daniel. Being that of a country boy and the baby of the family, David enjoyed a mischievous childhood with his beloved cat, “Black Boy”, and his dirt bike on which he become Evel Knievel.

As David grew up he was formally educated in the Marion County School System, graduating from Tri-County High School in the spring of 1980.

David continued his education at Tuskegee Institute and the Art Institute of Atlanta. With a wide variety of talents and skills, he was employed by a number of organizations (Georgia Kraft/Mead, City of Atlanta-Grady Hospital, FEMA, Home Depot, etc.) all geared toward working with his hands and helping people. By sheer nature of being a Daniel, David also tapped into his entrepreneurial spirit and established Daniels Landscape as well as Daniels Maintenance & amp; HVAC. After a decline in health, David retired and stubbornly limited his maintenance work to just his residence! His employment often lead to his travels, but in 2010 he returned back home to Buena Vista. Not only did he return home but also back to his roots and accepted Christ as his personal Savior and become a member of the Brown Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church family.

David was blessed to be the baby boy of eleven. He was preceded in death by eight siblings: King David Daniel, Albert Daniel, Joe Daniel, Lucile Daniel Tymes, Julia Lynn Neal (Samuel), Arthur James Daniel, Ola Mae Neal (George, Sr.) and Johnnie Daniel; ., Perhaps inheriting the best of each sibling is what made David so diverse-- -loving the outdoors and working with his hands while simultaneously being an artist and admirer of music, photography and film. He was a Renaissance Man!

On Friday, January 20, 2017, David traded the worn, frustrating confines of the physical body for the freedom only heaven knows. God, in his infinite wisdom, called our dear father, brother, brother-in- law, uncle and friend to his great reward. 53 “For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”—I
